An on-site clinic, off-site programs and assisting with the adoption of community health focused policies and initiatives are all part of services offered.
We play a critical role in protecting and improving the health of the people and communities of Johnson County. We provide a range of services aimed at promoting healthy behaviors; preventing diseases and injuries; access to food, water, and immunizations; and responding to public health emergencies. We are happy to announce that Gentle Yoga is being offered for free at the Paintsville Recreation Center every Tuesday at 11:00AM. This class is free of charge and last approximately 1 hour. Johnson/Magoffin County Home Health Agency, announced today that it has been named a Top Agency of the 2016 HomeCare Elite®, a recognition of the top-performing home health agencies in the United States. For more than ten years, HomeCare Elite has annually identified the top 25 percent of Medicare-certified agencies and highlights the top 100 and top 500 agencies overall.

In order to be considered, an agency must be Medicare-certified and have data for at least one outcome in Home Health Compare. Out of 9,406 agencies considered, 2,353 are recognized on the 2016 HomeCare Elite winners list overall.

Freedom From Smoking
Want to be FREE from tobacco but don't know where to start? The Johnson County Health Department is launching a Freedom From Smoking® program. This seven week, eight-session group program was developed by the American Lung Association, and is one of the most successful quit programs available. A trained instructor will provide the extra support you need to kick your habit for good. This program will teach you how to change your behavior and become smoke-free for life.
You'll get special attention to help you:
• Develop your own quitting plan
• Fight urges to smoke
• Combat recovery symptoms
• Control your weight
• Manage stress through relaxation techniques

Parent Checkup-Johnson County
The Johnson County Health Department is assisting the University Of Kentucky School Of Public Health with a research project geared towards families with a child ages 3 to 5 years old. Are you wondering what Family Planning is?
Family Planning offers services that promote planned conception and reproductive health. The goal is to aid in desired spacing of children and preventing unintended pregnancies. All services are confidential to men and women. This includes providing birth control, pregnancy testing and counseling, Pap testing, pelvic exams and education and counseling. These services are available for uninsured and underinsured (insurance is also accepted). When needed appropriate referrals will be made to community providers.
